Abstract

Beekeeper Compass is an innovative remote beehive monitoring system designed to provide beekeepers with valuable information on the condition of their colonies.

It is equipped with three essential modules:

1. Internal hive monitoring, including sensors to monitor internal conditions.
2. An integrated scale to measure hive weight and an external monitoring system to analyze traffic in front of the hive.
3. A camera to detect and count the number of bees leaving and entering the hive.

The main aim of this project is to collect this crucial data, process it efficiently and provide real-time information to beekeepers, enabling them to make informed decisions about the health and management of their hives. A dedicated application allows beekeepers to view all this data and receive notifications based on predefined parameters, enabling them to actively monitor their hives and react quickly to changes in their environment.
